In this section of the blog I will share my latest food finds. If you love to eat and try out new restaurants, you can use this section to explore all the best foods available for your palette.

So far my travels have taken me to Washington D.C., Chicago, Atlanta, GA., Jackson, MS., Chicago, Washington D.C., and back to Chicago.

While in the nation's capital, I had the pleasure of making new friends and tasting my new obsession, risotto tots, at a bookstore café called Kramerbooks. This café is the true gem of D.C.. Located in Dupont Circle, it is easy to get to by public transportation or car. The experienced servers are extremely accommodating. They will help you choose a delicious option every time. If great cocktails, burgers, and conversation appeal to you, Kramerbooks delivers.

Know before you go:

The restrooms are located on the lower level so keep that in mind; go when you arrive. After a few cocktails and long talks, a bathroom break can become an emergency situation if you're over 40.

If you're ordering an Uber to scoop you up, be mindful that there are two addresses. Your ride may be waiting outside on the bookstore side.

Two other places in D.C. worth mention are Ben's Chili Bowl, which has been part of the community for decades. Chili dogs good enough for celebrities and politicians are good enough for me too, but it's their dessert that made this stop memorable. Old school southern staples abound at the register. The service is second to none for a hole in the wall dive. Photo ops await to keep your social media followers engaged or envious.

The other memorable restaurant would be Nopa. The ambiance, service, cocktails and food provide a perfect mix for catching up with old friends or getting to know new friends. Street level viewing provides entertainment if you love people watching as much as I do.

Nopa sits atop the Spy Museum and store, so prepare to be intrigued by the displays begging you to come inside and explore the world of spying at its best. Nopa's bar is simply stylish. This is a great first date spot that begs to later become 'your spot' if the date goes as well as planned. My friend and I were there for the Chilean sea bass, and that is what brought me back for a second time. Share with me if you try this spot and feel that same way.
